This is an overview on Niki Nakazawa’s pop-up restaurant and culinary project Pichón in Mexico City. Partnered with Yolcan, a company providing local produce grown in the chinampas of Xochimilco, Niki and her partners produce a weekly Sunday brunch at Café Zena in the San Miguel Chapultepec neighborhood.
Pichón takes as a point of departure a cosmopolitan perspective on Mexico City, a melting pot of cultures from all over the Americas, Europe as well as Korea, Japan and China. Their food embraces the diversity found within the city while maintaining a focus on local ingredients and popular Mexican traditions.
