Overlooked
Taken on daily walks through the ubiquitous back alleys of Northwest DC, these images are the result of a deliberate effort to allow chance and discovery to make their way into an otherwise purely routinary activity.
These explorations of the back alley offer the opportunity to introspect the neighborhood and contrast curb appeal with a more humane reflection of who we are.
Overlooked is a selection of observations that shed light into little manifestations of our busy lives, our aspirations, and ambitions. Gentle remains of previous lives, architectural details resulting from the permanent effort to expand and renovate, imprints of nature on concrete, shopping lists, or quick notes that fell from pockets, are placed in the gallery with the intention to prompt a more dynamic experience of the viewer mimicking, to some degree, the way of observing and framing from which this exhibition come to be.
